Cozy Candles
Refined + Expanded Version (Same Tone, Cleaner Flow)
This was another lockdown project, but this time I wanted to slow things down a bit. I created a small set of three images with a more toned-down, luxurious feel. It’s a shift from my usual bold color work. Instead of pushing saturation, I focused more on restraint, softer tones, quieter compositions, and a more relaxed overall mood. The goal was to let materials speak more, glass, surfaces, finishes, without overpowering.
I also leaned heavily into props for this one. I built out more layered sets to practice composition and set design, thinking more about depth, spacing, and how objects interact within the frame. It became less about a single subject and more about the environment as a whole.
In a way, it felt like a throwback to the work I used to do with nail polish and nail technicians. That same attention to detail, surface quality, and presentation came back into play, just applied in a slightly more refined and controlled way.
